about

A song inspired by the life of one of the Isle of Man’s most important cultural icons, Mona Douglas.

Composed by Aalin Clague, she writes:
"Drillinyn means sparks and it was inspired by Mona Douglas' interest in Theosophy. It was written in 7/8 time because of the sacred nature of the number 7 in Theosophy. Theosophers attempt to explore divinity and nature in the smallest detail, and the song describes life force as sparks from the same fire, drops falling into the same ocean and spirits circling endlessly."

This song was first released as a part of 'Mona's Isle: The Legacy of Mona Douglas' in 2017.
