about

Tunes:
Knox’s Jig (Rachel Hair)
Purt y Claasagh (Peddyr Cubberley)

Scran is very lucky to have not one but two talented harpists, Lucy and Arabella. Here they play a jig by Scottish harpist Rachel Hair, who teaches harp in the Isle of Man and has been responsible for encouraging many young Manx harp players. Knox’s Jig is from Eam y Feeaih - The Deer’s Cry, a suite for harp ensemble which Rachel composed for the 150th anniversary of Manx artist Archibald Knox. This is followed by a harp tune by Manxman Peddyr Cubberley who has also been involved
with promoting Celtic harp music on the Island over the years with the group Croan yn Tead.
